Tranmere story
Jay Francis Spearing is an English former midfielder born in Wallasey. He developed at Liverpool from the age of seven, captained the club’s FA Youth Cup-winning side and later represented Leicester City, Bolton Wanderers, Blackburn Rovers and Blackpool.
Spearing joined Tranmere Rovers in 2020 and left at the end of the 2021–22 season. He subsequently returned to Liverpool as an academy coach and player-coach.
